Your Shadow

Skally

I want to be close to you, kiss you, feel you.
Listen to your problems, be there for you.
Hold your hand, hear your heartbeat, talk about your past —
the one that shaped you into the person you are today.

I want to laugh with you, run through the forest, travel the world,
be silly, cook, listen to music, dance, swim,
listen to the rain, sit on the couch in candlelight.

I want to know your greatest fear,
the reason you wake up in the morning,
your favorite color, your favorite music, your passion.

I want to lie next to you, in silence, just looking into your eyes.
Listen to you speak, lie on your chest and hear your breath.
Talk with you about the universe, the meaning of life,
show you the beauty of small moments,
watch rainbows with you.
Laugh with you as we run into the sea.

Lie on the sand and feel the sun shine on you,
and your blue eyes sparkling like the ocean.

I want to be close to you, no longer far away.
I want to know all your colors — even the dark ones.
I want to show you what clouds taste like,
and how the butterflies whisper to you every day.

I want to caress every inch of your body.
I want to know your worries — the ones that keep you up at night.
Know your thoughts — the ones that haunt you in silent moments.
I want to know the reasons your heart beats faster.

Feel you, your bare soul.
Look deep into your eyes and show you how beautiful you are —
how the cosmos swirls in your gaze.

You, with everything you are.
The matter that keeps you alive each day.
Within it, your soul.
Your bare soul.

I see you — with everything you are.

And I love you — from afar.
