The Children of the Fall

Tristan Robert Lange

Verse 1:
So you think you know us,
But you don't know us at all.
Rising up you anoint yourselves,
Judging if and when we will fall.

You want white, for darkness to fade
You keep ignoring all of the gray,
But darkness has consumed us,
Blackened by your pomp charades.

Chorus:
The children of the fall,
We're dying as we call.
"Christ is yours," you say,
"Better change or pay."

The children of the fall,
That fate consumes us all.
You know not our needs,
Or for whom Christ bleeds.

Verse 2:
We walk down broken paths,
Our tears turn to blood,
Each day brings desperation,
We're struggling against the flood.

Razorblades and poetry,
Blackened lips and pain to spare,
You discriminate and alienate,
As if we're ghosts who aren't even there.

Chorus:
The children of the fall,
We're dying as we call.
"Christ is yours," you say,
"Better change or pay."

The children of the fall,
That fate consumes us all.
You know not our needs,
Or for whom Christ bleeds.

Bridge/Breakdown:
Watch us fall (4x)

Verse 3:
So you think you know us,
The freaky children of the fall.
If looks could kill we'd be dead,
Your thoughts imprison us all.

White lace and eyeliner,
You say fishnets are for fools,
"The devil the their god," you say;
Yet, "judge not" is God's rule.

Chorus:
The children of the fall,
We're dying as we call.
"Christ is yours," you say,
"Better change or pay."

The children of the fall,
That fate consumes us all.
You know not our needs,
Or for whom Christ bleeds

  • Comment from author about the poem: It’s time for some more Freaky Friday Frolics. This is Part 4 in an ongoing series titled The Birth of Tristan Robert Lange. Written in 2009 during a darker chapter in my journey, this piece pulls no punches. It was my anthem of defiance, a raw callout of religious hypocrisy, and a love letter to every outcast left bleeding on the altar of conformity. This song goes out to all who have tasted the darkness and been judged for it. 🖤♰🦇🪞🩸🕯️
