From England, Ireland and Scotland on my mums side I come.

From long shanks to the Scottish Guin and Gunn. Tea Tephi I know the history well.

The once greatest empire in the world did swell.

Once the sun never set on the realm.

Most of our moral laws today came from it at the helm.

The Magna Carta from it did spring.

Our  Constitution and bill of rights that did bring.

I stand on the shore and stare across the vast.

Older brother are you past?

If you so what of me and all your colonies.

I guess things just won’t last if you forget the one who blessed you so vast?

A poem of roots, lineage and family ties. I too have a paternal line that goes back through Longshanks and Ireland but then if you go back that far the spread is so wide that it can go most anywhere. A fun read

Interesting, if you can get to longshanks you can get to Abraham cause he did.
