"the inviolable"

arqios

"the inviolable"

the inviolable
a locked door…
bolted tight
against roaring tides

a sudden tilt—
shadows crest,
windslash the ridge

yet this steadied breath
keeps our center
in the inviolable

Although I am most sure this is not what was in mind when written, this piece evokes numerous feeling and thoughts. Breath one of the first words we think that when no other word was available meant to live or be alive, since only breathing distinguished between the living and inanimate. Later to become the word I denoting that a person was a living and existing entity. To breath is the foundation of meditation where one becomes inviolable to all outside oneself. It is the center of our being beginning and staying at our center, from brain stem, autonomic nervous system to lungs and diaphragm. It is our core. In controlling one's breathing one controls the outside and steadies the vessel. A deep write with the simplicity of breathing.

Really appreciate your take on this, Soren. I love how you tied breath back to its roots as life itself, and how it becomes that steady center in meditation. That connection to our core, both physical and spiritual; fits so well with what I was reaching for in the poem. Amazing how something as simple as breathing can carry so much depth. πŸ•ŠοΈπŸ™πŸ»

You are welcome my friend. Although most would say it is coincidental I find it interesting that tracing a simple word to what we believe its origin through Sumerian writing we find a connection. Breath with life and the derivative the verb, to be, which when personalized becomes, I am, that through Hebrew is known as the name of God. I am that I am as given to Moses in their traditional writings. The breath of life breathed into the nostril of Adam. Oh well enough.

Arqios, this piece is an invocation to hold steady amid collapse. Sparse, potent, and quietly defiant...the poem itself becomes the inviolable. Well done, my friend. πŸŒΉπŸ–€πŸ™πŸ•―οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›

Inviolable reminds me of violin for some unknown reason. Not got the foggiest idea why. lol.
There's the saying 'And breathe....' when we're all in a state, in a tizzy, having a hissy fit maybe. heehee.

You breathing there? I did a marathon 24 hours without breathing one day. I did it but didn't feel well afterwards. Eh?! lol. Fido says - you telling porkies, Orchi?
