TOMORROWS DICTATOR

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

They slaughter poets
At the kerbside
So closet poets
May see
This is what awaits
If you criticise me.

It seems far fetched
Fascism one step away
Tough sentences now
Soon another way.
Tomorrows dictator
Bible in hand
Preaches of justice
Sleight of hand.

Ban all opposition
Gradually phase in
One ruler, one nation
Soon you all will win.
Too many people
Lets weed them out
The old the ill, disabled
In protest will you shout ?

Today some call it fiction
Weve been here many times
But we never learn
From history
In these bloated
Modern times.

A poem of warning about a topic everyone knows but are afraid to address because the answer affects them personally. Greed and neglect have gotten us hear and are the same reason that keeps us here. A sad but all to true tale. Nicely done
