my brain is a busy city

gray0328

thoughts rush like untamed taxis

swerving fast through crowded streets

horns blaring in endless confusion

no red light can stop their flow

neon signs flash endless reminders

of dreams delayed and tasks forgotten

buildings rise tall with heavy emotions

casting shadows on fleeting moments

everyone here is going somewhere

yet no one knows where to go

the sidewalks ache under footsteps

of worry pacing back and forth

i long for a silent park bench

in the center of this chaos

but even the trees hum endlessly

their leaves whispering to my fears

A splendid characterization of a busy mind is over crowded and moving too fast. Nicely written Gray.
