Where But in a Garden

Lorna

Where but in a garden

Does life begin and end

On such a scale

In such a framework

That every beginning can be witnessed

Then followed through its allotted time

To an end so fitting

Back into the earth

Nestled among dying friends

And scarlet leaves

And so the metaphor of the original garden of Eden and its trees of life and knowledge. A beautiful metaphor for all life where we are watched by that all seeing eye as we are born, struggle, display our beauty and wither returning ashes to ashes, dust to dust. A fave

The journey of life from the garden of Eden all the way until we are returned back to the earth and nature, enjoyed the read, nicely crafted.

    Hello Lorna,

This is such a treat to behold. It reads like a flourishing garden on a bed of bones, the bones of souls who planted it. A bequest from those who have returned to the earth for those who live with the fruits of it. A poem of life by a gifted poet - a Gardner of words. Excellent!

    Kind regards,

    Tony.
