I Will

Denise

I will be the tree with shimmering leaves on an evening’s still,

I will be the curious feathered bird that lingers on your sill,

I will be a whispered winter’s kiss upon your cheek,

I will be the towering strength to carry you through your bleak,

I will be the moment, that you sense my present near,

I will be the urging confidence in a situation, that will ease away your fear,

I will be guiding the good thing, that just happened to go right,

I will be the shooting star, that crossed a sparkling inky canvas night,

I will be the unexpected beauties, on a mindful walk, that are crossed,

I will be the album of memories, that can never ever be lost,

I will be the wondrous rainbow, that arrives to celebrate the sun and rain,

I WILL be with you, I promise, until we meet again.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Loss is difficult pain to bear, and different people deal with loss in different ways. Being quite spiritual in outlook, I take comfort from things that I see and feel. This was the inspiration for this poem.

A poem of promises and memory of a relationship lost but still that lingers. Lovely
