Abducted

Fränz Müller

I spin in a circle beneath the trees

Crying out "Show me the way!"

Exhausted, half mad, I crash to my knees

And curse at the sky that's so gray.

Abducted, corrupted, and God knows what else

you've been gone for one year and one day

A powerful wind comes in from the west

and gently the trees start to sway.

I find you, your wristwatch, your sun-bleached bones

I tear at the earth with my claws

I gather you up and carry you home

My grief has me crushed it its jaws.

I left you, I left you, I found you again

I followed where your spirit led

And as the sky cried, they placed you inside

To find silence and peace with the dead.
