clockwork

Yassin Tamam

Forever in a state of transition

As my mutable star and rising shift in me

Grounded by my earthy Mercury

Sending me all love, a vision

How slowly the years passed for me

And as a narrator, I am losing my reliability

My memory, it fades

The dates are tangled, and I am stuck in a white noise scenery

I am getting older, the more I know the less I understand

The more I realize how lost I used to be

Or maybe I still am

The sounds of Azzan

My rosery beads

The evil eye I wear to cross the streets

The curses, the cold showers

The praying in defeat

I followed the scripts, and it told me that I gotta trust myself

Get into my intuition

And how can I count on someone who lost himself in said transition

I worked for my fate like it was for someone else

I tried to face my limitations

But I stuck in messy counterfeits

Where I am the only liar

And everything else is truth

And fuck it we must move

I just can’t stop leaving

I wish I could stop breathing

In the air filled with smoke

That I puff through my fingers

That I light with conscious

That I chose to be the reason for my demise
