I hope that the days come easily and the moments pass slowly,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door, which is closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to be,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold.
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this is my wish for you.
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive and never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything, my friend,
My wish for you is that you never feel that it is the end,
That you know it is not a failure to take a U-turn,
But it means that you have got some new routes to learn,
May all your dreams stay big, and you set your sail again,
'cause you know that somebody loves you
in your walks through the arid or the rain,
May you feel the butterflies in your stomach
and the numbness in your hands,
But still, never give up to the storm in the sea or on the land
May you always know that somehow you'll go through,
'cause that someone is waiting for you, who loves you.

- Comment from author about the poem: We all sail through tough times because we have strong anchors of family, friends, and community. This poem is written for all those who stay away from their near and dear ones, to make their dreams come true, or to make their livings, and to feed their families.
