Spoils-fuel for the fire:
Birthed in murder, and evil desire..
Now we bleed: not for country, now for creed.
What once flourished, is now dying:
No one howling? No one crying?
Rising from the ashes, who will quench the fire?
Now the truth, has been twisted by a liar..
Is it they or is it them?
Was is what is was, that now offends?
What a mess we are in.
Given dominion for a thousand years...
Righteous? Now, no one hears..
Who's God will save the day?
Beauty for ashes, I heard him say.
But who has believed our report?

This poem is wonderful in its vague depiction of what is meant. I take this as a critique of present government but also those that put it in place or at least allowed it to come about. Nicely and most poetically done a fave
Thank you, you're always most generous.
You are most welcome
A sense of frustration possibly anger at today's politicians and those who put them in power, as this is not how it was meant to be, enjoyed the read
