My spring arrived a little early this year.
The fallen leaves have begun to regrow,
And the flowers in my heart are blooming again.
The wounds begin to heal.
The little girl in me smiles once more—
Running in joy and peace
through the garden of my heart.
I know I’ve made her proud.
I’ve begun to embrace her, protect her, love her.
Her eyes begin to glisten—this time, with joy.
And I quietly wish
for my spring to stay a little longer
this year.
