to be naked in the desert
no company but the chattering coyotes that are too far, to fang-bearing to touch anyway
the harshness of sand wind and sun
searing your exposed flesh away
blistering you open
the rawness of your wounds
pounding with every pulse
but the range is wide open
vastness and air in every direction
the feeling of no walls
rib and lung hurdling outward
to expand as far as they want to
rattlesnakes behind every rock
thorns gaurding every cactus
or is it better to
sip the sweetened tea of partnership
in the love-garden of comfort and company
as you take it in through the boning of your carefully tightened corset?
where it holds the right parts of you in and lets the right parts of you out?
look at all the plants you've grown together
hand in hand, through dirt and sweat and hope-seeds
taste from your basket
of love grown fruits
the pain-joy of wildness
the joy-pain of domesticity
can either be better?

I’ll sip a cup of both
i chose the image of an oasis because i feel like its a blending of the 2
*throws infinite roses*
A beautiful poem full of imagery choices are often difficult but the desert with its scorching days and freezing nights, its dry waterless stretches I'll opt out of.
A wonderful write, sone wonderful imagery if not stark, some of the happenings mentioned in the desert can apply to the better half, but not by nature but inflicted by people, hard choice, but not the desert for me, take my chances in tye rat race, enjoyed the read
glad you enjoyed, im kind of suprised at the leanings of more than one person here toward being a gardener! glad Im not alone
You are very welcome
