Just Stand

Kayla Jackson

You can spend years

taking the blows,

the debris hurled your way,

and endure it.

though it gnaws at your soul,

you persist.

Until one day,

you can't.

in that shattering moment,

you fall,

broken.

As crippling pain

begins to devour your very being,

you'll reach out,

you'll begin to climb,

and that, my dear,

is when you discover your strength.

There is peace and beauty

in the overcoming.

Just Stand.

Sometimes all you endured even years tells you who really are and reinforces your worth. Hell of a price but still worth.
