SEASONED NIGHT

Acheel

Starry night and pestling slow of basil
And the beauty of loved one— untold
Pestles a heavenly basil shoot.

Nights and pestle; stabbing descend
Yearnings cleave a lovelorn’ neck, calling;
Soften, come—tender, on the soul— tread
Bestow me thy steps; endowment.

Into flowers burst; if thee accordant
With them bring each blab; henna’d
Fetching you of the heaven' attendant'
Stars; earrings jeweled, resplendent
A vow forged, solemn to our converse.

To each parting, the pestle grows
By indigo tears and black omens
And love are thee but so quixotic
Mirage; not existing nor vanished.

By pestling some scent imparted
Art born from the sorrows of love?
