The moon without stars

Aiswarya Girish

They asked me, " How do you define

rejection?"

The moment my heart shattered into

tiny pieces,

my body remained still-

unaware of my surroundings.

My ears remained silent

in that noisy city

The rain cried for me-

I had no tears left that day.

My mind felt empty-

like the moon without stars.

I lost my way-

like an abandoned car in the deep desert.

I lost myself, my dreams, my life-

all sank into that ocean of rejection

I cried my soul out-

it was all I could do...

It may have been all you could do then
Now however you have turned it around
    Beautiful meaningful and hopefully cathartic
The more you write the more you will heal
    Keep em coming

Thank you so much for your kind words. You're right—it was all I could manage back then, but writing has definitely helped me begin to shift things. I truly appreciate your encouragement—it means a lot.

A lovely write, rejection can be so hard to except and heal from, it is nice to see putting those feelings and emotions on paper has help start the healing process, nicely expressed and written
