ASYLUM

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

A great step forward
Half a billion years
Climate change
A burning earth
The politicians
Both right and left
Presidents and kings
Peasants bereft.

Upon rocket ships
The elite have gone
Gaining asylum
New galaxy new sun
Security on
A distant star.
Earth a burnt
And greenless scar.

No food no water
Famine strikes
Death to those
Left behind
Waiting for
A help thats kind.

But the alien species
Have had enough
No more earthmen
Just too much
They eat our food
They fill our homes
Use our doctors
And our schools.

Down their rockets
From our skies
Who cares if earthmen
Live or die
These asylum seekers
Enough is enough
If they become extinct
Who gives a fuck ?
