Love like Vandalism

Berniece

I’m nothing to you

You want space?

Of course, dearest. I’ll make room.

You say I’m naive?

You’re right, honey. I’ll do better.

You’re busy

Again?

That’s fine, baby.

I shoulder your

careless

wreckage

But I still stop to smell

The roses you forgot

To buy me

I blush

at the sweet words

I’ve never heard

You say

I write you

love letters, but

you litter them

in filthy alleyways

I know I’m

Overwhelming

It bothers you

Even if you don’t say it

I don’t want casual

You keep score?

I’ll deface

the scoreboard

Closed lips

Suit me well

Now you’ll sleep

easier

I laugh off the moments

when I can tell

You don’t actually care.

Sometimes I wonder

If you’d love me more

Without a pulse

You want space?

You won’t hear from me.

You say I’m naive?

I’ll never smile in front of you again

You’re nothing to me

A poem of hurt and anger that darkens with each passage. Well written

  • Poetic Licence

A sense of anger and pain at the way they are teated and has decided to just keep quiet or leave, nicely expressed and written
