Looking deep in my soul
Where the diamond's still coal
I hear shrieks that belong in my past
And I'm stopped in my tracks
As they all turn their backs
My disguises down here fade so fast
They all know what I did
When no more than a kid
Out to conquer the world my own way
If I stepped on your toes
Broke your jaw or your nose
We were all like that back in the day
It's so dark funny shapes
And I swear I saw capes
As the shadows allow me a glance
Temperature way below
Anything I should know
Only seems to speed up their advance
We can just about touch
As it all got too much
With a shake I return to the norm
That was too close for me
Lucky still to be free
Having danced through the eye of a storm

A lovely flow and rhyme scheme to this poem that takes one on a journey with a beat. Very nicely done
A nicely written write of their reflection on their life so far and there behaviour in the past. Appreciating life more and that they are still a free person, enjoyed the read
Very relatable and well done
