Rain

Keeter C

I prayed for rain two days, naught.

To the east and west it meandered.

The field dry and dusty moisture I sought.

I thought God I must have slandered?

Then it came full on without repent.

Deluge it finally came.

Prepared I was not.

Suddenly I realized how powerful it can be.

Thankful I am but unprepared the same.

Even ants  know when to cover the entrance to the nest while I flail at a wayward fly.

Funny the the fly knows how to get attention but not whether it should.

Loved this poem for the meaning may be far deeper than the surface would seem

I got the sense of paying attention to something that didn't need the attention or deserve it, while ignoring what's happening under our noses, nicely expressed and written, enjoyed the read
