So Easy

Kayla Jackson

It's so easy to say

she deserves it.

it's so easy to disregard

what you do not know.

The pain in her eyes,

the ringing in her ears,

as she slides down the wall

with glass in her hair.

It's so easy to dismiss her

because she allows it.

The hidden bruises,

the blood in her mouth.

It's so easy to ignore her

when society says

to mind your business.

It's so easy to blame her

because "She is just a bitch"

while she she walks on eggshells,

concussed with broken ribs.

It's so easy to forget her

when she's dead.

Powerful it screams out of the darkness. It calls for help that falls on deaf ears. There is no excuse for abuse. A strong write.

A powerful and sad write, of crying out for help to bed removed from a abusive relationship, very sad but nicely expressed
