The High

Sassy Lou

Feels so good

Feel so free

Not a care in the world

Nothing matters to me

Swirling of the smoke

Burn of the line

Chase that dragon

Flying so damn high

Escape from reality

Take away the pain

Hurt no more

My saving grace

Let it consume you

Take over your life

Nothing else matters

Except how you get your next high

One by one they all disappear

Friends, family, acquaintances furthermore

House, your home & eventually your career, too

All because you let it take over you

Nobody to turn to

Nowhere to go

Scared, solace & empty

Lost in this crazy world

Feels so good

Feel so free

Not a care in the world

Nothing matters to me

A poem of being high. I could almost feel the floating in this one. Nicely done

A write of the ever increasing dependency of drugs to get the high they are looking for, to forget their daily troubles and life and a moment to feel free, a path that is so easy to follow but very difficult to get of off, nicely expressed and written
