Oh the fancy dresses
The jewels
The trowel thick makeup
That covers false hearts
And shallow faces
They glitter and twirl beneath chandeliers
So unaware are they
Of the dark to come
Where those who feast on shadows
Await their inevitable decay

A fave for the deeper meaning in this poem of maskerade where a world party requires a mask. The glitter and colored paint hides the reality behind and only in dark may one remove their mask. Nicely portrayed
Just like how a person can’t be awake all the time I feel like it’s the same with wearing a mask all the time… there are still moments of authenticity
Nice. Ignorance is bliss they say until that one day.
This is a wonderful write, we all wear different masks, some for fun, some to hide the reality that lays beneath, reminds of where are the clowns, they are hiding amongst you, enjoyed the read
