Love

Paul Ramnora

Love is...
...in many ways, indefinable...?

Love is...
...far from 'ideal'.

Love is...
...also, many a time, 'blind'...?!
(People have both a 'good'/and, a 'bad' side.)

Love is...
...accepting people as they, actually, 'are'...;
(and, NOT necessarily how you do 'wish' them to be).

Love is...
...all about, forgiveness
(after all, the truth is, nobody is 'perfect').

Love is...
...quite truly, unforgettable
(...on a very good day/sometimes, on a very bad day, too...?!).

Love is...
...both kisses and curses.

Love is...
...constant up's and down's.

Love is...
...in reality, very 'bitter-sweet'.
(...and, forevermore, constantly, 'changing'...)

Love is...
...only up until whenever one finds a 'next' newer/and, far better love interest...?!

Love is...
...true love, on the other hand, involves not just 'like'...; but, also, inspires tremendous 'loyalty'.
(Having gone through both 'thick'.../and, too, through 'thin'.)

Love is...
...important.
(When it comes to understanding others.../and, also, in understanding yourself, as well.

It is through knowing and interacting with others...; that we also come to know ourselves.)

Love is...
...far better to have loved and lost.../than, never to have loved at all...?!
(Few people, I imagine, can live without 'love'...loving others/loving themselves.)

I enjoyed the read, agreeing with all stated until the twist at the end, interesting and nicely thought out write

      -Thanks! 😉

Frankly, I find the art of writing poetry...doesn't, usually, work with the 'first draft'...?! But, instead, you have to go back in and, repeatedly, adjust/correct. So, that the poem you read just a moment ago...; might well have 'changed' completely...by the very next time you do go and try looking at it..? LOL

Everyone has their own way and what works for them, I just sit write it and leave it at that, its only my opinion i feel if I go back and play around with it, I will lose the feeling and the essence of what I was trying to say, horses for courses as they say

Yes, I can very well understand that...if you ARE a good writer...; then, you can succeed in getting things 'right' -(no pun intended)- the very first time. But, if you are a terrible writer -like me-; then, it takes multiple -(if not absolutely endless)- attempts, I'm afraid...?! So far to date, I've written just 3 poems on this site...; each of which I believe is 'total crap'...! But, just because you trip up/fall down to 'start' with...is no reason to quit altogether. One just has to believe in oneself...; and, concentrate on what happens to be the 'end goal'...; which is to get one's poems to improve...through doing constant 'practice'.

I'm not that good I just like my writes to be honest, I have enjoyed your reads, I understand the feeling of thinking what we write could always be better, and I know mine can be, but I don't write to please others, I write because I like to write and if others like it, thats good if they don't that's good, enjoy the rest of your day

You write well...; me, I hope to be able to reach the level and standard where you are...one day...??? I also like your explanations/replies to me...so honest, open, down to earth, and, truthful...saying everything exactly like it is. 😉

Isn't that how life should be

                • Paul Ramnora

                  Yes. 😉

Love is so many things all grouped under one emotion. A lovely (pun intended) write and good to see you experimenting with different styles

-Thanks very much for your comment...which which I do happen to agree...the truth is love is 'complex'/(as, indeed, are nearly all human relationships). 😉 As to experimenting with learning the many different techniques of how to go about writing poetry...I don't believe I've anywhere near 'begun'...??? Still so much to learn/do/discover/try.../-etc.
