From Snow to Showers

Priya Tomar

  we met in december

the month I still remember

Joy grew in the lap of January

I wove rhymes of your bravery

February brought the shining sun

you placed roses in my bun

Holi's hues dyed my silky frock

March arrived with singing flock

April's hands opened colourful wings

In my fingers you put diamond rings

Bells of warm breeze chimed on silver sand

In May we dreamed of the wedding band

Storm silenced sweet tune

Dell turned to desert in mid June

Then.......

Memories make pearls in the eyes

pain in every vein, my heart cries

In my cold hands silent bangles

No glow, no song , no jangles

Here in this poem a running through the months that started in December and end in June making my mind wonder why start on the 12th month and end on the sixth month is there some significance that I am not seeing or is it merely circumstantial. A fun read of development of a relationship.

I appreciate you looking for deeper meaning . The month mentioned here are more circumstantial.
I'm glad you find it a fun. Thanks.

Priya, This poem moves from tender warmth into heartbreak so seamlessly…the seasons turning right alongside love’s rise and fall. Beautifully written, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

What started as a whirlwind romance ended in tragedy, me thinks.
The journey though short still asks the reader what happened, but the answer might not be what we want to hear.
