WHEN HOPE HAS LEFT

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

When hope has left
The day is long
Scattered sunlight
A cruel sun

When hope has vanished
Like littering snow
Melted gone
Winters glow.

When hope has departed
Unanswered prayers
Delivered upon knees
At Heavens stairs

When hope has died
A departed friend
Life is cold
Legs to bend

When hope disappears
Pounding brain
Like water slipping
Down a drain.

This poem ends on a rather sad and hopeless note. It caries with it a sense of darkness. Nicely written
