Confusion

Dan Williams

Promises made in a background voice

never intending to fulfill.

Searching for something to search for,

but still reluctant to knock on new doors.

Offering credentials that misrepresent

as noble scoundrel, counterfeit hero

who thunder will not deafen. water will not wet,

even in this fifth season tempest.

Reality only marginally real, existence non algebraic

where D rarely equals L x W.

Electricity can be felt but not touched,

here misrepresented by illogical powerlines

crossing roads at too acute an angle

triggering cross firing synapses.

This is confusion.

In a world where clarity is often demanded but rarely delivered, "confusion" embraces the dissonance. This poem doesn’t seek resolution; it revels in the contradictions, the misfires, the surreal logic of a mind navigating fractured realities. It’s a meditation on the discomfort of ambiguity, and a challenge to those who insist that meaning must always be linear.

Here physiology and everyday events are placed in allegory painted metaphors become the form of communication. It would seem mad to some but then so does poetry. Nicely done
