The poet in hell

Lorenz

Walking along the path

strewn with embers .

I went down to hell .

There,I met this poet

who was atoning

for his past life's whims ...

In the house of damnations,

tormenting  words ,

 with whom you composed symphonies

for servile zombies .

Throwing a few scraps

to the dogs of the night ,

who praised your genius ,

bowing down to your madness ...

A venomous virgin

distiling opium in your cup .

Inspiration,that you forced wildly .

Whispering  in the embrace :

'' Love ,let me breathe in this aroma

of pestillence !

 - Let me worship this goddess

clad in steel and leather !

You,Nero !  Get out of this body !

What talent lived through

 this delightful turmoil ! ''

Bard ! here you are ,

forgotten by the crowd

  of slaves and bastards !

Vain vagrant in the voices

of Babylona ...

Gladiator alone in the arena ,

expecting for the opponent

who will not come ...

  Poet ! In your features

I recognize a taste of tears .

 I ,the prophet

 who proclaims in the agora

where the gallows

make clones yawn...

  Effeminate scribbler

 of the flowers of love

 enjoys meditating

on the scent of roses ,

And marvel at the smile

 of the silly toddler ...

Poet ! I'm coming to join you !

Where Satan the excruciated ,

here and  there ,

no longer has the power

to stop the downpour

 bewitching the divine fools...

This poem is a metaphor for the creative destiny: a poet condemned both by the world and by his own inspiration. An allegory of art as a curse.

A demanding mistress harassing me constantly !

Creativity is cursed by the crowd.
      Nicely done, wonderful work.

The prophet as poet's avatar is condemned .But this pillory becomes the place where beauty survives .

Poets do not belong in the religious and traditional heaven and must be consigned to hell. I too would choose my seat next to theirs. Lovely
