Death surrounded her
Bombs falling captured the stories inside her head
Real-life tears fell over blood-soaked mornings
Screams pierced right into the reality she called life
Friends, limbs missing made her look abnormal
Laughter left the country, vowing never to return
She watched the burning figure running towards her
Collapsing before her, pleading for death
But death didn’t want him that day
He wasn’t one of the fortunate ones
She climbed into the basement seeking solace
Clutching the doll who like herself seemed to have survived in one piece
But something wasn’t right
Dolly was living a lie
She pulled one arm and one leg off
Dolly smiled
And the world became normal again.

The horrors of war seen through the eyes of a child so accustomed to death that anything short of maimed was not normal. A tragic and sad write. Nicely done with hard hitting emotion
Sad reality out there in the world.
Sad indeed
This is packed with raw emotion and real sadness, a child`s view on living through war, the reality of it and what becomes normal to the child. Very nicely crafted write.
The simple mind of a child.
Maybe the child shouldn't be there anyway....hardly her fault though...
PS: Like the new straight from the shoulder stuff, but wouldn't mind a salting of the old schtick occasionally - I need a good laugh sometimes....
I'll cheer you up.
Looking forward to it....
