Bet

Damaso

Notice of absence from Damaso
I miss you friends

Ultraviolence was delimiting
with time I drew a line
the border of the eternal abyss
whips of torment shaped my animal

Don't pay attention and tear if you meet the other
strange fluctuations in the very void
the suspicious smile of the merry-go-round operator
set the world rolling again in frenzy

There's a bet between two for your head
essential product of all their earnings

They calculate indifferently:
I trade life,
I trade death.

They await the explosion of your dynamited tracks
Genesis of the new heavens with private security.

With my eyes in light I unleash illusions
I am a hostage to ordering my own chaos
immense and inverse the universe in me
I am the same library as yesterday, with a different name.

Your poem addresses themes of violence, existentialism, and the commodification of life and death. It reflects on the idea of being a pawn in larger games controlled by others, as well as the internal conflict of managing one's own chaos while grappling with the expectations and calculations of the outside world.

Wow, thank you for the optimism. I very much agree with your feelings about the text. The end of human fulfillment is a lure to justify this game. To be or not to be. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and leave your words of support. Best regards.

Love your author's note that clarifies the poem. A mad hatter dash for a finish line that does not exist. Well done

Hey, thank you so much! It's the only way I can see this distressing picture of how everything must be. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your words of support. Best regards.

          You are most welcome

A strong piece, my friend. Violent and visionary all at once, where abyss and universe blur together. Well crafted, Damaso. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🦇🐦‍⬛
