Happily Married Women

Meera Mere

"Happily married for two years."

But her eyes screamed anything but happy.

She wondered if love was just a trap—

A sweet bait Luring her into unending responsibilities.

Because love? It had gone quiet.

The flowers before marriage had long dried.

No one called her beautiful twelve times a day anymore.

No one asked if she had eaten.

 No one planned surprise dates.

No favorite chocolates left at her bedside.

And she kept wondering—

Was love ever real?

Or just a trap,

To cage her in something they called marriage?
