Wiggling tails,
full of shining orbs,
spreading happiness
in the midst of bustling days.
Still searching
for crumbs, for fragments,
to fill their ribs
that echoes with hunger.
They guard our nights
with loyalty, kindness, warmth—
asking nothing
but love.
Yet we stay silent
while they are caged
for surviving.
Tell me, Delhi—
are we stray, or the heart's on the streets?
We forgive rapists,
yet cage warriors.
Tell me again, Delhi—
are we stray, or they ?
