The Whim of a cloud

Sami Mulaj

THE WHIM OF A CLOUD

I reached out

To grasp a cloud,

It remained suspended.

I extended my lips

To kiss a tuft of cloud,

It stayed aloft.

I opened my mouth

To bite a cloud,

My teeth chattered.

With my hands,

I wanted to wrap a cloud

For a dance in the sky.

Just she and I,

But I couldn’t find

Her waist.

The wind tossed me

Like a leaf,

And I remained among the clouds.

Without a kiss,

Without an embrace,

Without descending to earth,

I remained in the air.

Mystical, whimsical but at the same time poetic and with deeper meaning if taken in metaphor. Nicely done
