The Outside

amirose2015

for so long, i've been on the outside.

anxiously trying to find a way in.

looking through frosted panes.

dreaming of what it's like.

their chatter fills the air.

their glasses clink in celebration.

their shouts ring with glee.

their laughter emanates warmth.

but the thing about being on the outside,

is that you're not bound by the walls.

when you turn away from the glow,

you realize there's a much bigger world.

with people who are also on the outside.

Loved the metaphor used in this poem. It is clear and applicable. Nicely done
