The Heart of A Caregiver 2

GenXer Shamrocker ☘️

It’s not easy to be a caregiver with all that it entails. You do the best you can to care for your patients right down to the last detail. You try hard to provide them a better life inside their home. Hoping and praying all the while that they never feel completely alone. You listen with an open heart to stories of “days gone by.” Some stories are much harder than others and at times they make you cry. Maybe they lived through the great depression and so now they teach you; how to cook etc. How in life’s very storms you’ll brave through. Maybe he or she went to war and so now you understand; the heart it takes to help our country; the heart of that very woman or man. Maybe they suffer with battles only you will know. And here you learn the importance of love and letting go. They confide in us some things that cut you deep inside your core. Here you learn strength, courage, resilience and so much more. The heart of each caregiver is different yet the same; and here we learn to lean on one other with the hopes that we can help each other in areas that need a different perspective or eye; in that there’s much to be gained.

There are those that do this for a living and then there are those that make it a life style. A lovely poem with a lovely message well written as well noting your continued use of working internal rhyme and good organization. Nicely done
