What If I Was Proud

Sophenia

What if I was proud of myself for a change?

Always supporting others,

I forget—

that there’s a people pleaser in that.

And now I’ve learned,

it’s actually my power.

I come off trustworthy,

I am helpful—

but I also want to do things my way.

I didn’t know I could say

so many things to others,

and instead of getting in a fight,

just slay.

I am learning

to be proud of who I am—

always good to others,

but needing to get back

to who I am.

Don't see people pleasing as bad if it is meant to make them happy not yourself or get something in return. A good write
