Back Where I Started

Jodie

I was runnin’ far away,
Wonderin’ if I’ll slip one day,
Fallin’ fast—will I hit the ground?
Pulled down,
Like I’m buried underground,
While the world keeps spinnin’ ‘round.

I don’t know who I am.
The light cuts sharp, too bright,
I’m burning up inside the night.
Thought I was getting better,
But I’m back where I started—
How did I get here?

I am just terrified,
Feels like a waste of a young heart.
So tell me,
Will you hear it stop?

The last two lines make this poem. To hear a heart stop one must be listening and therefor care. Well done
