A Throbbing Train

Ray Moonee

In a black canvas,
a train throbbing with full speed
crashed without effort.

It pains like
the soil within me—
that once nurtured life—
now crushed beneath it.

Like a throbbing train
crushed in me.

His words hurt me,
like someone destroying
the fertile land within me.

Can broken soil ever bloom again?

  • Comment from author about the poem: This poem speaks of pain that crashes into us without warning—like a train that doesn’t stop. It is about how words can wound deeper than we realize, leaving behind broken soil where once life bloomed. Yet, within that question—“Can broken soil ever bloom again?”—there lies a quiet hope.

Intent is everything in spoken words and though we think we know it is seldom that we do. A great write about the pain of words ill said and with intent all the worse in that ground things will seldom grow again
