The river of life

Sami Mulaj

THE RIVER OF LIFE

It begins as a small stream

Where the horizon

Kisses the sky.

It cools the banks,

Sometimes rushing with force,

Sometimes like a fearless boy,

Leaping from rocks as a waterfall.

In its descent,

On the plain,

Boats anchor,

And ships

Come and go.

At last,

The river disappears

Into the sea,

A thunder subsides,

And there, the line with the horizon

Fades, fades away.
