If the voices in my head stopped,
I’d be pretty scared —
they’ve always been there.
When they align together,
I speak as one,
no hesitation
in action or tongue.
Every sound, each movement
motivates, releases gravity
from a body bound in damnation,
flowing through intensification.
Sometimes funny,
other times sad,
most of the time angry,
yet still — deeply glad.
Each one has purpose,
though none has a name;
to name them would be madness —
but I am not insane.
I am guided by the ringing,
a passion without end;
spirituality unwavering,
the animal within engaged.
Solitude is needed,
as is the longing to connect.
Neither should diminish
the truth of our authentic self.

Voices in one's head or talking to oneself are not necessarily bad or uncommon as long as we realize that they are us we are hearing or talking too. A good read Dan.
Yes hearing without ears and voice without movement of the lips. Well some greater souls than me, have stated our thoughts do just come to us and not always our own (Alan Watts). To recognise this and pause before some acts, is one of the most challenging things I've found in life. Nearly 44 and I think I'm getting it!
Always appreciate your time
Loved Alan Watts and many of his views.
Good write, PPD. I enjoyed the read.
Always appreciated my friend
