“Have a good life”, I said
I said it many times
And I think I’m quite good at it
Good at using it as a mask of politeness
Hiding my soulless soul which shall end in nowhere but solitude
Good at using it as a mark of no-reply
Concluding conversations which shall bring me intimacy (or say, trouble)
Damn, I’m really good at it
And I’m gonna have a good life

We often use words as a mask or shield to hide behind. Here this comes out in the irony of using the line in regard to oneself at the end of the poem. Nicely done
Thank you, Soren. All your kind words, and insightful points made my day.Now you have collected the pieces of picture of a man who's having the "The Remains of the Day" trouble.
You are most welcome and I hope that the rest of your day is a most pleasant one.
