Enough

Sunita

"You like me? Since when?"

Confusion and mistrust rush across my face, I don't believe a word

"Since forever", you said not a little bit bothered

Oh I know this, it's that game

When you and your stupid friends

Break a sweet girl's heart with absolute no shame

"No you don't, it's just a phase" I said

Hoping you'd back down and put it all to rest

But you don't of course

You're not one to back out

Never to lose control

"But it's true" you follow me

As I run from what I don't know

My fears, my past, it's the only way I'd show

Forever in hiding, not wanting to believe I am worth it, though

"Believe me, I won't lie"

Our steps get bigger, and I suddenly stopped

"WHY?'

"What?", now you're the one confused

"Why do you like me?" I asked

Knowing you won't know and just leave it instead

"Because you're you" you said

But that wasn't enough

Even when my heart skipped a beat, my eyes burned with your love

It wasn't even close

Because i won't believe

Not through all of my flaws

"You're wrong, move on" I said

Trying, hoping to be as brutal as it goes

Me and you aren't two sides of a coin

Your passion is fire, I am the fire itself

You will not get near me

Not if you want no hurt

So, I walk away

Feeling the heat of your gave

Even when you're not in my way

"Because you make me me"

I froze

Second guessing myself, if I'd heard that wrong

But no

I saw it in your eyes

that spark that always has a way to melt all kinds of hearts

"I make you you?" I asked

"You make me me" you said

And that was all kinds of enough.
