The Man

NinjaGirl

Mysterious and alluring

A tall man in the corner

With a seducing smile

Shy and quiet

A young woman sits

Enjoying a drink

He strides over to her

Confident and calm

She's his type

She smiles when he talks

Nervous at first

But excited that he's into her

He takes her home

Coy and respectable

To his apartment

Timid and inexperienced

She doesn't know what to do

When he puts his hand on her

He watches her freeze

But bites her neck

And sucks her blood

She doesn't let out a scream

She doesn't push him away

She only sits still while she dies

She falls into his arms

Another easy one

He leaves her on the couch

And walks away satisfied.

A metaphor? Taking advantage of someone unsuspecting whether as a vampire or a sexual vampire is equally bad. A most interesting write where horror becomes real.

In the Victorian era, it was common to write about vampires to express a story of exploitation, selfishness, and putting your desires above someone else's autonomy...considering my genre of writing I figured giving it a try wouldn't be a bad idea. Thank you for reading!

NingaGirl you are so right it was only more lately that it has taken on a more sexual nature and still carries this exploitation and desire issue as well. A most interesting write that I feel dose reflect well the issue of exploitation so nicely done. You are most welcome

That moment where she freezes before the bite…that image is chilling. It’s the stillness that makes the violence land even deeper. Powerful work, my dear 🥷 poet friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
