The way I Still Remember You

louiray

I don't have you now,
but I still carry the trace of you—
the way your voice settled into my days,
gentle, steady, unforgettable.
I keep the warmth of your presence
like a note tucked in my heart,
faded at the edges,
but never losing its meaning.
I don't measure time in calendars,
but in the spaces between
your last word and my waiting silence.
I wonder if you know
how often I return
to the smallest pieces of you—
moments you may have let slip,
but I still hold like treasures.
Because sometimes,
love doesn’t stay in what is,
but lingers quietly
in what we remember,
in what we keep.

It's about how love doesn't always disappear — sometimes it survives quietly in the little moments, the feelings, and the traces he left in your heart.
