🌠Stars and Shadows
It all began in sixth grade’s light,
Three hearts bound, everything felt right.
Laughter echoed in every hall,
We were a trio, standing tall.
But time, it moves with silent grace,
And tenth grade brought a colder place.
One friend flew to Spain, so far,
Like losing my most precious star.
She left, and school felt strange, alone,
Her absence chilled me to the bone.
I’d sit and stare at empty skies,
Missing her smile, her jokes, her eyes.
The bench we shared, now just a seat,
Where silence and my thoughts would meet.
I missed her like the moon misses night,
Like stars that vanish out of sight.
Then came the pain I didn’t see,
Another friend turned cold to me.
Her world was now her boyfriend’s name,
And I was caught inside their flame.
She framed me just to shield his pride,
And left me broken deep inside.
A thousand words I couldn’t say,
She walked, and I just watched her stray.
But even miles could not erase,
The love from Spain, her warm embrace.
She stood by me through every storm,
Her heart, my shelter, safe and warm.
She cheered me on, she held my hand,
Though oceans lay across the land.
Her voice, a light in darkest days,
Her care, a balm in countless ways.
And still I smile when I recall,
The school ground where we had it all.
Phones in hand, and jokes that flew,
The sky was ours, the world felt new.
We’d sit and laugh till time ran dry,
Underneath that open sky.
Though things have changed and paths divide,
Those memories still live inside.
