In realms where kinship's gentle light should fall,
A single heart beats, answering no call.
No brother's laughter echoes through the hall,
No sister's whisper breaks the silent wall.
The world expands, a vast and fearsome place,
Where shadows dance, and terror finds its space.
To walk these paths with no familiar face,
Is life's most terrifying, bleak embrace.
To speak and hear no listening ear incline,
To hold a thought and have no trusted sign
Of understanding, human and divine,
Is solitude that feels profoundly malign.
No confidant, no anchor in the storm,
No hand to clasp, no body safe and warm.
The fear it breeds, a shapeless, chilling form,
Leaves the soul ravaged, battered, and outworn.
I watch the world, a tapestry so bright,
Of interwoven lives, a joyful sight.
But I remain outside, consumed by night,
A broken piece, forever out of sync, out of place, a misfit's lonely plight.
Oh, to be seen, not through a stranger's gaze,
But by a soul that knows my winding maze.
To trust completely through life's coming days,
And banish this chilling, fear-filled, silent haze.
But there is no one. Just the endless dread.
Alone. This word carved deep within my head.
