……I meditate to control my fight or flight instincts, can I control every instance; imaginary fences can’t control involuntary adrenaline defenses, hormones dispenses, can meditation dismiss this, or am I merely semi in control, giving the appearance of a monk who has achieved involuntary control.

Some individuals have achieved unbelievable control over many autonomic and involuntary systems but it is far easier if you can see what you are controlling. Biofeedback works for some, some are able to achieve it with meditation and relaxation training. A great read.
