Forever Old

RSM0812

Hours tick, clocks chime,

Matter sits, gravity nosedives.

Like a diamond from the sky,

Or a song amplified.

My heart is at ease, like a soft breeze,

Beckoning for an open door,

To walk through, and see the side,

The eternal reasoning of the tides.

The secrets of life, sits alone,

Like the shadow of a statue, stone,

Sitting on the earth cold,

Forever aging, forever old.

Elements of stars, born free,

Like the patterns of a butterfly,

Painted on, flying for me.
