Place road

A piece of luggage

I thought I saw her today

Down on Place Road

Though that could have been the trick of the light

Or maybe my inept ability to perceive things that aren't really there?

Are you really there?

Somewhere she's there

Maybe not down Place Road

I'll meet you again one day

They say I'd die for the sake of another

That my fate is set to live for no other

For the sake of her body in my hands

That I laid down my life so she could stand

I wander alone through the desolate place

Still seeing her shadows I won't face

Is there love for me or was I dreaming it?

"Give me your heart and I'll spin it.

You won't need to brace for sorrow.

Just follow the light through the shadow of tomorrow."

A haunting poem of separation due to death and now a shadow wandering and waiting for reunion. Nicely done
